This was given to me today at Beaufort Elementary School by a youngster as part of a Veterans Day program. What a joy to see patriotism in the minds and hearts of our youth and to have teachers in our school system teaching it to them. The author didn't write it to me, personally, he had all of us veterans in mind when he put his heartfelt thoughts to pen, especially you veterans who served during wartime. Maybe you'd like to write him a note of appreciation as I intend to.
