Guardians

A Trained Traveling Companion

Guardian Information

A Guardian serves as a trained, traveling companion to our Honor Flight participants.

Guardians are essential to the success of every Honor Flight.  Without these Patriotic volunteers, we would not be able to carry out the dreams of so many Veterans’, enabling them to see the memorials built in their honor.

From the moment the veterans are in our hands, until we return them to their family in the evening, Guardians will be asked to treat these heroes as their family and ensure that every Veteran has a safe, memorable, and rewarding experience.

Our Guardians play a significant role, Franklin County Honor Flight, Inc. provides training to those individuals chosen to receive the honor of becoming a Guardian.

During this training we will be covering the safety and health concerns and just as importantly how to ensure that each Veteran has the best trip he or she possibly can.

Some Guardian requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
  •  Pay Guardian Fee of $500.00, includes meals, all transportation and tips.
  • All prospective Guardians must attend guardian training prior to going on a flight with a Veteran.
